Dutch words that I did not found in the Dutch-English dictionary

While reading and now even writing you come across Dutch words for which you do not know the correct English translation. Therefore I’ll keep a list of words where I still looking for a translation. So if you got any suggestions on the translation of the words listed, please let me know.

  • kabelkrant
  • The Wolters dictionay translates it with “cable newscast” and one on-line dictionary translates it with “cable newspaper”. Both look like words that are not used in the English speaking world. But for now I’ll stick with cable newscast.

  • Twentse Landgans
  • The redaction of the English page of the University Twente News translated it to Twente Country Goose. I still wonder whether this is correct (a bonus question for linguists, can English actually have a word for this type of goose.)
