Dutch words that I did not found in the Dutch-English dictionary
While reading and now even writing you come across Dutch words for which you do not know the correct English translation. Therefore I’ll keep a list of words where I still looking for a translation. So if you got any suggestions on the translation of the words listed, please let me know.
- kabelkrant
- Twentse Landgans
The Wolters dictionay translates it with “cable newscast” and one on-line dictionary translates it with “cable newspaper”. Both look like words that are not used in the English speaking world. But for now I’ll stick with cable newscast.
The redaction of the English page of the University Twente News translated it to Twente Country Goose. I still wonder whether this is correct (a bonus question for linguists, can English actually have a word for this type of goose.)
